Campaign Event
'Wow and Flutter' is an event to promote HMV. The aim of the event is to create the experience of physically going into a music store as opposed to purchasing digital music online. The event recreates the record shop experience with a music sale in the Albert Hall, Manchester and also has unsigned bands playing throughout the day at various locations around Manchester. People will experience new music and will be able to receive personalised music recommendations from staff. The music sale will contain different forms of physical music from vinyl to CDs to cassette tapes. The name 'Wow and Flutter' is the term used to describe the distortion created by rotary components on turntables and cassette players. The design of the event branding is based on this idea of distortion and is a reference to physical music formats such as cassette tapes and vinyl.
